A heating planet is the hot body no one ever wanted. As our climate has changed, the way we dress has not kept up. HOT BODIES is an investigation into the innovative ways apparel and wearables can help us radically rethink how we dress, feel, and be “hot” in the 21st century.

How do you beat the heat, when there’s no escape from it? When it’s hot on the streets. Hot at the office. Hot in bed. Hot on the bus. Hot when you’re running. And hot when you’re not. How do we stay cool and live the life we want? Presented from the lens of a long-time global expert in heat and humidity — Singapore, the world’s 3rd most densely populated country, which sits just 1°N of the Equator.

In Singapore, we’re become especially accustomed to dealing with heat in one way: we stay indoors and blast the AC. But with worse conditions to come, we’re looking for smarter, more sustainable, and most importantly, more liveable answers. As heat becomes increasingly unavoidable, it’s time to start treating the sun as our friend, and asking a different question instead: not “How do we get out of the heat?” but “What can we get out of the heat?”
