What can centuries of Asian wisdom teach us about staying cool in a warming world? In this deeply textured conversation moderated by HOT BODIES Curator Hanyi Lee, we speak with TingTing Zhang, CEO, Singapore Fashion Council, Daniela Monasterios-Tan, Fashion Lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts, and Afiq Juana, Co-Founder of Kebaya Societé—to uncover the heat-ready genius of traditional Asian fashion. Everything from the drape of the sarong to the technical mastery of coastal batiks.
Together, they will trace how Asia’s clothing cultures were designed for breathability, adaptability, and beauty in the tropics; and how the region is poised to lead the next wave of heat-resilient fashion.

What we wear shapes how we face the heat—but so does what’s happening inside. In this restorative workshop led by Physician Chelsea Tan, a TCM physician trained in both biomedical science and Chinese medicine, discover how Traditional Chinese Medicine has long addressed the concept of “heatiness” in the body—why it happens, how it shows up, and what generations before us did to restore balance. We will also explore the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern tools, including Electro-Lymphatic Therapy — a gentle, tech-enhanced modality that supports detoxification, relaxation, and lymphatic flow.
Expect a 30 minute talk and a hands-on ELT trial to experience how clearing stagnation in the body can support cooling and recovery.

How you dress in the heat matters, but how you accessorise can make all the difference. In the world of making and crafting, jade is a material that often gets overlooked—but it actually helps absorb and dissipate heat from the skin rapidly.
In this workshop helmed by HOT BODIES collaborator, TANCHEN, learn all about the cooling properties of jade and make your very own beaded jade and wood tassel bag charm inspired by TANCHEN's Cool Collar, on display at the exhibition.

How do we condition our body for a world that’s heating up? In this collaboration between HOT BODIES and RANK by CRNK, you’ll get to try your hands at a HYROX Foundation Class that will help build your endurance and strength.
Guided by RANK’s expert coaches, you’ll go through the eight signature stations and cap it off with a 1km run—a taster of the full HYROX experience, soundtracked by a collaborative HOT BODIES x RANK playlist. All attendees will receive a $5 voucher to spend at the HOT BODIES Emporium.
This session is technique-focused with light, scalable efforts, not a workout simulation. Whether you're completely new or just want clarity on race flow and movement standards, this class gives you the confidence and knowledge you need before stepping into full HYROX-style training.
Use this promo code HOTBODIESXRANK20 for 20% off drop-ins for HYROX Classes or Open-Gym throughout the HOT BODIES exhibition from December 6 to December 24. T&Cs apply.
Old textiles, new creations. Through the partnership between OCBC and Cloop, we'll be placing textile recycling bins around New Bahru during the HOT BODIES exhibition period for visitors to give their goods a second life. These will be sorted into over 500 categories and sent for reuse, upcycling, and recycling. Textiles we accept include clothes, bags, shoes, accessories, belts, hats/caps, clean innerwear, toys, plushies, bedsheets, and towels.
