Join us for a fireside chat between Assoc Prof Jason Lee, Director of the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC) at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Jemimah Seow, Researcher for HOT BODIES. Together, they unpack the science and sensations of living in a warming world — from how our bodies adapt to heat, to what we’ve misunderstood about the sun. Expect myth-busting insights on sweat, sunlight, and survival, as Assoc Prof Lee reframes the conversation around heat not as our enemy, but as a force we can learn to live — and even thrive — alongside.

In this playful workshop for kids (and their grown-ups), we’re putting our faces first—literally—by turning sunscreen into a colourful and creative adventure. Inspired by Hot Bodies’ exclusive Jean Jullien collection, children can choose to transform into one of two heat-adapted animal heroes: the sun-loving Fire Salamander or the shade-savvy Turtle.
With professional face painters on-site, and the support of Skincare Partner Paula's Choice, this series is a light-hearted way to teach us essential lessons about sun safety and skincare. We aim to make outdoor play fun again—and show kids that protecting themselves from the sun is not a chore but a superpower. Suitable for 3+.
Available as a redeemable experience from $25 spend at the Emporium.

What does a cooler future look like when we imagine it ourselves? In this playful workshop for young creators, participants can decorate their own hand-fans inspired by sun, shade, breeze and imagination. Through colour, pattern and storytelling, they’ll explore how simple objects can help us feel good in a warming world, while celebrating the joy of staying curious, creative and climate-ready. Each child goes home with a personalised fan — a tiny tool for cooling down, and a big reminder that small ideas can spark bright, resilient futures.
This workshop is available as a redeemable experience from $25 spend at the Emporium or purchasable at $5 per fan.
