HEAT RESPONSE
Healthy movement beats hiding indoors.
Fun in the sun? Not so much. For modern parents, worries about heatstroke, dehydration, and sun damage often keep children indoors. But the truth, is less outdoor play isn’t the answer—staying active is most crucial, as fitness is key to building the body’s resilience to heat stress.
The problem is, it’s no fun being the sunscreen police, nor is it necessarily helpful to overcorrect and let kids spend long hours under the sun unprotected. So why not turn sun protection into an adventure? Featuring the characteristically playful illustrations of Jean Jullien, THE SUNSHELL doesn’t just provide essential sun protection with UPF 50 fabric, it also serves to inspire outdoor play in kids, and their grown-ups too.

THE SUNSHELL draws from two masters of sun survival—the Fire Salamander’s mythical fireproof powers and the Desert Tortoise’s legendary water-holding abilities. Each cape transforms their instinctive heat wisdom into wearable imagination.
“Children will always use playfulness to interact with the world in the best and simplest ways. I’d love for kids and their parents to act out the way these two animals react to the temperature change,” suggests Jean Jullien. “I'm definitely more on the turtle side!” he adds. “Hopefully, it triggers dialogue about how our human activities affect other creatures, what it means to be a part of an ecosystem, and how to look after it.”
